Okou is a fictional female ninja and spy in Sanada Taiheiki, a historical novel by Japanese author Shotaro Ikenami.
She serves the Sanada family with absolute loyalty and works in the shadows to gather intelligence, protect the family, and support their survival during Japan's turbulent Warring States period.
Although she is not a warrior on the battlefield, she is one of the most important characters in the story. Okou is often seen as the hidden guardian of the Sanada clan and is believed by many readers to have deep, unspoken feelings for Sanada Nobushige (Yukimura).
